  2. Slowly add the maize meal to the boiling water, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  3. Add salt and continue to stir until the mixture thickens.
  4. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Serve hot with your choice of side dishes.
